Le TribuTerre vous invite ce mardi 23 mars 2010 à 19h00 pour assister au visionnement du film documentaire Garbage Warrior du réalisateur Oliver Hodge. Film sur l’auto-construction de « Earth Ships » (Vaisseaux de la Terre) habitations écologiques, faites en partie de matériaux récupérés, auto-génératrices et auto-suffisantes en eau, nourriture et électricité… Concept mis au point par Micheal Reynolds (architecte) et en continuelle évolution depuis plus de 40 ans.
Comment Haïti pourrait être éco-reconstruite vous demandez-vous ? C’est ce qu’entre autre Micheal Reynolds et son équipe s’apprêtent à faire puisqu’ils comptent se rendre en Haïti ce printemps (avril- mai 2010) et faire un ou plusieurs démos de concert avec les communautées locales qui les auront préalablement invités.
Nous vous convions donc, à venir vous familiariser avec leur équipe et techniques de construction à travers le visionnement de ce documentaire fort intéressant.

TribuTerre invites you, this Tuesday, March 23th 2010, 7 p.m. sharp, to join us and watch the documentary « Garbage Warrior’s » directed by Oliver Hodge. This film is about the story, construction and evolution of « Earth Ships » : ecological, self-sufficient, self- sustainable housing that produces it’s own food, water and electricity, made partly with discarded items such as old tires, plastic bottles and so on… Elaborated by architect Micheal Reynolds the concept is in continuous evolution since it’s beginning forty years ago…
How Haiti could be reconstructed in an ecological way you ask yourself ? This is what Micheal Reynolds and his team are currently preparing to initiate. They will land in Haiti this very spring (April-may 2010) and build one or more demos of « Earth Ships » with the collaborations of local haitian communities who would have invited them for that purpose.
So, join us and get a better idea of who they are and how they plan to work for a better world, through the display of that uplifting documentary, which will realtes to our own lifestyle and choices as well.
The movie will be presented by Marita Mariasine who’s not only enthusiastic about the whole concept but is also in touch with the crew members regarding amongst things, their next project toward Haiti this April. A discussion will follow the presentation.
